Melbourne’s Must-Eat Delights: A Food Lover’s Guide

When you go to Melbourne, you have to be serious about eating.

The first place I went was a bakery called ‘Lune’, and wow… this place is hilarious.

It’s a bakery, but it looks like a NASA research lab, right?

Inside the window, people in white coats and such were making croissants with rulers. I thought, “Wow, is this bread or art?”

When you take a bite, the sound is truly artistic. “Crispy!” You say, loud enough to make you feel sorry for the person next to you.

You especially have to try the almond croissant. After you’ve had it, you won’t even be able to look at other breads back in Korea.

And when you think of Melbourne, you think of brunch, right?

We went to a place called ‘Hardware Societe’, and the atmosphere just screams, “I’m in Melbourne!”

I had the ‘Baked Egg’ there. Cheese and eggs sizzle in a small pot, and dipping bread in it is… wow, just talking about it makes my mouth water again. Many people even enjoy a glass of champagne in the morning.

It’s a magical place where you can’t help but open your wallet, thinking, “Ah, this is the leisurely pace of Australians.”

Oh, right! And we can’t forget about the market. Everyone lines up for donuts at Queen Victoria Market, but for the real pros, you have to go to the “Borek” shop next door.

It’s a Turkish snack, and for just a few dollars, you can get a donut the size of your face.

I tried the spinach and cheese one. It had a chewy exterior and salty interior, so I devoured it in a hurry on the street.

But that doesn’t mean you should give up donuts! Walking around the market with a bag of those piping hot donuts makes you feel like you own the world.

And in the evening, take a leisurely stroll down Lygon Street, the Italian street.

There’s a gelato place called “Pidapipó” there, and you can see it from afar.

Why? Because there’s a huge line of people waiting.

But the best part is, there’s a tub of Nutella gushing out of the tap inside!

They top the gelato with warm chocolate, and the moment I took a bite, I thought, “All my exercise today was for nothing,” but a smile spread across my face.

By the way, Melburnians are so obsessed with coffee that the cafes close one by one around 3 or 4 p.m.

So, if you want a good cup of coffee, you have to hurry.

I was so disappointed when I saw the cafe close after procrastinating once.

And don’t buy water; just ask for tap water at restaurants.

You could just drink tap water, but saving that money for an extra scoop of gelato is our style, right?

So, are you picturing some of Melbourne’s best restaurants now? Seriously, there’s so much to eat, it’s almost like having only one stomach.
