Samsung Galaxy smartphone safety and emergency (Emergency messaging, Emergency satellite messaging) features and how to use them

Emergency messaging
Send a message with pictures and audio to your emergency contacts.
◌ From Settings, tap Safety and emergency > Emergency SOS. Enable to start
the following actions by pressing Side button five times:

  • Require swipe to call: Enable to require swiping the Call button in addition to
    pressing Side button five times to dial your emergency number.
  • Emergency number to call: Choose the number to dial for an emergency call.
  • Send SOS to emergency contacts: Enable to send your location to your
    emergency contacts.
    TIP You can also activate Emergency SOS by pressing Side button and Volume
    down button, and then tapping Emergency call.

Emergency satellite messaging
Message emergency services and share your location using satellite communication.
When you connect with emergency services by satellite, your name, email, phone
number, location, device information, and emergency contact information are
shared with emergency services and satellite service providers.
NOTE To use Satellite SOS, Google Messages must be your default SMS app.
◌ From Settings, tap Safety and emergency > Satellite SOS. Configure the
following information to send to emergency services:

  • Emergency contacts: Add contacts that you want emergency services to
    get in touch with.
  • Google Account info: Add personal information that you want emergency
    services to have.
